AMREZY VS. LAVISH PALETTE - WORTH THE HYPE?
Thursday, September 4, 2014
I planned on getting the Amrezy palette the week it came out, but I hesitated when I heard it was just like the Lavish palette, which I already own. When I seen it in person and swatched the purple, the brightest shade in the Amrezy palette, I knew I had to give it a try! Also, another reason it took me awhile to get the palette is because I could never find it in stores. I went to Ulta 4 different times and could never find it. Not in South Jersey where I live, nor North Jersey when I went to the Freehold mall. Once I found out that Ulta was no longer going to be carrying it due to the fact it was a "limited edition" palette, I ordered it from the Anastasia website ASAP!
So, if you're wondering if there's a difference between the Lavish Palette and the Amrezy Palette (both made my Anastasia Beverly Hills), I swatched them and I'll give you my own opinion on them.
Both palettes come with 10 shades, with very similar colors. I swatches only shadows I thought were comparable to each other so that way you guys can see what they look like next to each other.
The Highlights - Cream VS. Legend
Cream is pinkish matte, where as Legend is shimmer and more of a yellow. Cream doesn't come up on my light complexion where as legend shows more.
My Winner: Legend
The Bronze colors - Rum Cake VS. Topaz
Rum cake shows up lighter than Topaz. The Amrezy palette is much more pigmented than the lavish palette so of course the winner is.. Topaz
Reddish Browns - Sienna vs. Morocco
You'll hear a lot of bloggers rave about Sienna because it's such a beautiful color, but Morocco is such a deeper color, yet more pigmented than Sienna.
My Winner: Morocco
The Transitions - Orange Soda vs. Caramel
Orange soda is such a beautiful color for a transition, due to my light skin tone I really have to build this color on my eyelid for it to show. Caramel was the first color I started to play with when I got my Amrezy palette, I LOVE it! The perfect transition color for warm neutral eyes!
Winner: Caramel... by far.
The Purples - Pink Sapphire and Iridescent Purple
Pink Sapphire is a little bit deeper than Iridescent Purple, which is much more vibrant. The Iridescent Purple is much more wearable, in my opinion and I think it's way prettier. You see Amra on Instagram wearing a similar shade (even before she made this palette).
Winner: Iridescent Purple
The Greens - Moss vs. Emerald
Moss is a lighter green (not by much though) where as Emerald is a deeper green. I must admit I'm a little intimidated by green period.. but I think Moss is more my color.
Winner: Moss
The Dark Browns - Truffle Vs. Deep Plum
Truffle is a shimmer versus Deep Plum which is a darker matte shade
Blacks - Black Diamond vs. LBD (Little Black Dress)
Black Diamond has specks of gold in it that's very pretty but if you're looking for a true, matte black, than LBD is your color.
- Neutral on this. I like both :)
Overall, I love the Amrezy Palette so much more than my Lavish Palette. I go for a "neutral" look almost everyday for work, so I can see myself reaching for the Amrezy palette way more than my previous go to palette, the Lavish. Amrezy palette is overall just much more pigmented and has warmer tones! Love it!

NIOXIN HAIR SYSTEM KIT - 30 DAY REVIEW
Tuesday, June 10, 2014
I've always wondered if there's anyone had the same problems as I do with my hair and scalp. I have a dry scalp that drives my insane. After two days of not washing it, my scalp starts to burn and feels irritated. Also, if I wear black, my whole shirt will have flakes all over it. Then there's the shedding.. Not sure if it's the lack of a thyroid (I was born without one) or the medication I take for it but I shed excessive amounts of hair.. to the point I need drain-o for my bath tub every month and my rugs look like I own a dog. No joke, it's that bad.
No shampoo I've ever used seemed to help, not even dandruff shampoos. In fact, some actually made my scalp feel worse. I absolutely had to find something to help with the irratation. I explained my problems to Esthetica Salon and Spa and they recommended trying the Nioxin Hair System Kit. It includes a Shampoo, Condtioner, and Scalp Therapy Treatment.
Nioxin complete hair system provides 5 effects for thicker looking hair:
1. Reduces hair loss due to breakage
2. Delivers denser-looking hair
3. Amplifies hair texture
4. Strengthens hair against cuticle damage
5. Cleanses excessive sebum from scalp.
1. Reduces hair loss due to breakage
2. Delivers denser-looking hair
3. Amplifies hair texture
4. Strengthens hair against cuticle damage
5. Cleanses excessive sebum from scalp.
Guarantees thicker, denser looking hair in 30 days.
I started using the Nioxin Hair System kit May 1 and it's been over a month since I've started using it and I must say that seen results immeditately or should I say felt results?
NIOXIN Cleanser System - lather in hair for 1 - 2 minutes. Helps to remove follicle-clogging sebum, fatty acids and environmental residues from the scalp skin an hair. Cleanses to provide thicker looking hair.
The shampoo makes my hair feel so clean! It does give the hair a very matte, thick feeler after washing but the next step handles that.
NIOXIN Scalp Therapy - work in scalp for 1-3 minutes from root to ends. A lightweight conditioner that conditioner that helps to provide hair resilience and control moisture balance for normal to thin looking hair.
Wow! I love this conditioner. A little bit goes a long way! The shampoo gives the hair a knotty feeling but the conditioner smoothes it all out right away. I love it. You can feel it working while it's sitting in your hair.
NIOXIN Scalp Treatment - spray to roots evenly. Contains antioxidants, botanicals, and peppermint oil that helps to provide a refreshed scalp environment for normal to thin looking hair.
This makes all the difference! As soon as I spray it to my roots, it relieves any burning sensation from my scalp. It's very soothing for me and a life saver.
OVERALL:
I love this kit! This has been the only brand to relieve the symptoms as far as my scalp. You guys don't understand how much of a problem my scalp really is for me, but I'm so happy and relieved that I've found something that has worked for me!
As far as the excessive shedding, I haven't noticed much of a difference. Because the fact that I have medical problems, I'm not quite sure if this will ever go away but I must say my hair does APPEAR to be fuller! In a lot of the Nioxin claims, I noticed that the word "appear" comes up a few times.. but yes, my hair does appear to be thicker! Not quite sure what it is in this product that does the trick but it's amazing!
Totally worth the money! I would recommend this kit to anyone else who has the same issues as me. I will continue to use this product for as long as it continues to work. I used kit number 1. To find out what kit is best for you, visit the Nioxin website or any local salon that carries Nioxin, can help you find the perfect kit for you.

What I like about it..
They're amazingly soft and give my face a flawless finish.
Any cons..
I wish they were sets that included ALL of their brushes. For example, a set for all of the face brushes, and a set for all of the eye brushes. I also wish they had a bigger selection of eye brushes. There's not too many. Seems like the main focus was face brushes when these were made.
Would I Repurchase?
I loved the Real Technique sets sooooo much that I bought MORE of their brushes. I was so surprised of the quality of these brushes especially because they're so affordable. They're very soft and they leave a flawless finish on my face. 100% satisfied and recommend these to anyone looking for good quality brushes that's not gonna break your pockets.

IS IT WORTH THE HYPE - BENEFIT POREFESSIONAL
Wednesday, February 5, 2014
There's so many products on YouTube that beauty gurus RAVE about.. but I wonder is it all that serious? Do they really like it or are they talking about it because the company gave it to them for free? I can watch five different Youtuber's videos and they'll all talk about the SAME products over and over again. So.. with #isitworththehype I will give MY personal opinion on a product to see if it's really worth the hype.

Retails at $30 for .75 oz (Sephora)
What is it?
Face primer that minimizes the appearance of pores.
If you don't know what pores are, they are little openings in your skin that look like holes.
What does the product claim to do?
According to Benefit..
"Quickly minimize the appearance of pores & fine lines for smoother-than-smooth skin! Apply this silky, lightweight balm alone, under or over makeup. Translucent, oil-free formula complements all skintones and helps makeup stay put. Contains a Vitamin E derivative, known to protect skin from free radicals."
What I like about it..
I love the texture, my skin feel so soft and silky after I apply POREfesional and it does what it says, makes my pores appear smaller.
Any cons..
None here.
Would I repurchase?
This is actually a sample from a make up subscription called IPSY (for more info on IPSY, click here).. I've always seen this product talked about on YouTube but honestly, I never wanted to pay THIRTY dollars for it. I got this product in one of my glam bags and I'm so happy I've finally been able to try it for myself. One of the reasons why I absolutely love IPSY is because I always get products I wouldn't try myself or I get products that are just too expensive to "test" out. Ok enough, YES, as soon as my travel size is empty.. I'm going to officially purchase this product.
If you have tried Benefits POREfessional, what do you think of this product?
