Ring Obsession

Wednesday, January 22, 2014

I'm obsessed with these rings! Piercing Pagoda now has mid-finger rings, pinky rings, and thumb rings. They also have sideway crosses and infinity rings that are really cute (with necklaces to match)! The best part about it is the fact they are all 10k gold so they won't turn your fingers green! Prices start at $34.99. Ring sizes 3 and up.

January Ipsy Glam Bag

Tuesday, January 21, 2014

In this month's IPSY Glam Bag:
- Absolute Make-Up Cleansing Tissues
- Balanced Guru Balm Me Up Organic Sweet Cocoa & Tangy Body Balm
- Malin + Goetz Mojito Lip Balm
- Yaby Natural Finish Liquid Fondation
- Benefit POREfessional Face Primer

This month's Glam Bag theme is skincare. Can you tell? Moisturizer, Primer, Foundation, Lip Balm, and Cleansing Wipes. I think IPSY covered all the basics. I'm most excited about Benefit's POREfessional. I've been wanting to try it for awhile now but just don't know if I want to fork over $30 that easily for face primer and not know if I'm going to like it. Glad I can try a sample of it! Honestly I get enough primer from Ipsy's Glam Bag that I never have to go out and buy any. It seems like every time I'm almost done one, I get another one. Very convenient and no complaints on too much primer. I love it.. keep it coming!

This is the first time I've got a foundation from IPSY. I feel like they never send foundation because it would be too difficult to match foundation to every subscriber. I don't know if I got lucky or what but mine matches perfectly!

Love the mojito lip balm although I don't think it will replace my Noya Cherry Lip Balm I received a bag few months ago(I LOVE that Lip Balm..One of my favorite products under $15). It reminds me of Carmex but with a mojito twist..

As far as the body balm, I'm pretty sure this is the first time I received an Organic product (certified by USDA.) It's very moisturizing and smells so good!

High waisted pants were big in the 90's and now they're back. Love them!!

4. Velvet

Velvet is everywhere and there are so many ways to wear it! I've been seeing dresses, skirts, tops, pants all in this velvet material. I love it..  reminds me of those JLO and Rocawear jumpsuits back in the day..something we called it "Velour."

Remember?

5. Chokers

Yes, chokers are back but not those silly plastic tattoo chokers we used to love.  Now it's all about being classy with it OR you could also wear a choker for an everyday look like Claire Marshall did in her 2013 Beauty Favorites Video.

7. Combat Boots

I can wear boots like these all day every day.. at least in the winter. Oversized cardigan, cami, highwaisted pants, combat boots.. bam, easy outfit.

8. Plaid Shirts... Around the Waist

Be prepared to start seeing more plaid shirts around the waist. Do you remember how convenient this was as a kid? Playing on the playground, taking your jacket off when it became too hot and then tying it around your waist so mom didn't yell at you for getting it dirty. LOL

Stiletto Nails

Monday, January 13, 2014

Feels nice to finally have nails again after 2 years. I went the natural route for awhile but let's face it, I don't have time to keep repainting my nails everyday. Between cleaning, my kids, and my actual job.. Ain't nobody got time for chipped nails! LOL anyway. I went for some stiletto nails, with pink gel polish on my thumb, middle, and ring finger, a chevron design on my pointer finger and light gold glitter on my pinky.

Lorac Pro Palette Review

Monday, January 6, 2014

The fact that the Lorac Pro Palette has a row of matte neutral shadows AND a row of neutral shimmer shadows is the reason why I HAD to have this palette. I love neutrals and to have ALL of this colors in one palette is AMAZING. I'm so excited to start playing with this palette.

I couldn't find this palette ANY WHERE, it was out of stock every where I went... except Amazon, they never let me down ;)

Retails for $42 - Can be found at Ulta, Sephora, or Amazon

Lorac Pro

Packaging

When I first took it out the box, I was quite surprised how thin the palette actually is..

SWATCHES

Matte (Left)
Shimmer (Right)
As you can see.. I have pale skin and you can barely see some of the matte shadows. You can't even see "Cream" but.. the shimmer shadows are very pigmented.

When I opened the palette I did notice little specks of eye shadow on the black parts of the palette which makes me believe there might be a lot of fall out. For those who don't know what "fall out" means it's when the shadow falls off the brush and onto your face. This is experienced with lots of loose eyeshadows or cheaply made shadows.

Overall I really like this palette, I'm a little disappointed with how the matte shadows turned out on my skin. Not really sure if it's the color of my skin or the matte shadows just aren't as pigmented as the shimmer shadows. Also, the palette is so thin! For an everyday palette, I can see myself going through the colors pretty quickly. Other then the Cream and Light pink, I love the rest of the colors. They're beautiful neutrals that can be worn everyday and for any occasion! You can turn a daytime look into a night time look easily. This palette makes traveling a breeze because all you need is this palette in your bag. In ONE palette you have all the basic matte and shimmer colors. There's no need to have to search through all your shadows for matte/shimmer shadows because they're all right there in one palette. I can definitely see myself using this more than my Naked 1 palette.
