February Glam Bag

Sunday, February 23, 2014

This month I've been a little bit busy and haven't been able to see any sneak peaks on Facebook or check my glam room so I was soooo happy when the first thing I pulled out of my bag was a box of eyelashes. Overall I'm happy with this months glam bag, here's a list of what I've got.

J. Catt - Eye Lashes
ZOYA - Nail Polish
POP Beauty - Plump Pout Mini
Tini Beauty - Cordial Cream Eye Shadow (I thought this was lip gloss at first LOL)
skyn ICELAND - Fresh Start Mud Mask

Mani Time!

Sunday, February 9, 2014

With Valentine's Day coming up, I wanted to some how work hearts in my mani so I got my middle finger in the shape of a heart with glitter outlining it! I kept it somewhat simple on my other nails by keeping them solid with all white and gold! If you love it, PIN it on Pinterest.

There's so many products on YouTube that beauty gurus RAVE about.. but I wonder is it all that serious? Do they really like it or are they talking about it because the company gave it to them for free? I can watch five different Youtuber's videos and they'll all talk about the SAME products over and over again. So.. with #isitworththehype I will give MY personal opinion on a product to see if it's really worth the hype.

Benefit Cosmetics "The POREfessional"

Retails at $30 for .75 oz (Sephora)

What is it?
Face primer that minimizes the appearance of pores.

If you don't know what pores are, they are little openings in your skin that look like holes.

What does the product claim to do?

According to Benefit..
"Quickly minimize the appearance of pores & fine lines for smoother-than-smooth skin! Apply this silky, lightweight balm alone, under or over makeup. Translucent, oil-free formula complements all skintones and helps makeup stay put. Contains a Vitamin E derivative, known to protect skin from free radicals."

What I like about it..
I love the texture, my skin feel so soft and silky after I apply POREfesional and it does what it says, makes my pores appear smaller.

Any cons..
None here.

Would I repurchase?
This is actually a sample from a make up subscription called IPSY (for more info on IPSY, click here).. I've always seen this product talked about on YouTube but honestly, I never wanted to pay THIRTY dollars for it. I got this product in one of my glam bags and I'm so happy I've finally been able to try it for myself. One of the reasons why I absolutely love IPSY is because I always get products I wouldn't try myself or I get products that are just too expensive to "test" out. Ok enough, YES, as soon as my travel size is empty.. I'm going to officially purchase this product.

If you have tried Benefits POREfessional, what do you think of this product?

Get Rid of Those Crusty Winter Lips with 2 DIY Lip Scrubs

Tuesday, February 4, 2014

It's been a cold winter for New Jersey. It snows almost every week, it's so cold, and my lips are going through it! My lips get so dry during the winter, they get crusty, and when I'm sick I get this icky film on them.. Who's with me? Chapstick and lip balm can only do so much.. here's 2 DIY Lip Scrubs to get rid of crusty lips.

1. Brown Sugar Scrub
-brown sugar
-coconut oil
1:1 ratio
(I used 1 tbsp of each)

2. Cinnamon Scrub
-Cinamon for flavor
1:1 ratio for sugar and honey and I just used a dash of cinnamon for taste.
This tastes amazing, I just ate off my lips because its THAT good.

You can use your finger or you can apply using a toothbrush with a soft bristle. Scrub for about a minute, wash off with water or wipe off with a washcloth.  Apply your favorite chapstick/lip balm

Have fun with these recipes. Get little jars from your local craft store, tie a ribbon, add a gift tag and give these little babies as gifts. You can even add ingredients like pumpkin, rosemary, cinnamon.. the list goes on.  Experiment with items from your own pantry and leave a comment below to tell me what you came up with!
