Getting the House Ready For the Holiday's #GalSquad

YES! My favorite time of the year is here. I absolutely love the holidays and the true joy and happiness it brings. 

In preparation for Thanksgiving and getting my house ready for family to come over, I decided to start decorating to get in the holiday spirit. I know some people think it's too early to decorate for Christmas prior to Thanksgiving, but why not? It brings positive vibes and um, my crazy family needs as much positivity around them as possible LOL. Anyway, I decided to decorate a few places around the house before I go all the way into Christmas mode this week.  

I started with a few simple touches in the bathroom, where.. let's be honest, everyone goes to at point or another while they are at your house. Candles - totally necessary for every bathroom in your house. This one in particular is the Illume Balsm and Cedar Luxury Scented Candle, which a balsamic and woody base, with notes of orange, berries, green leaf, fir needle, cinnamon and pine. I love deep woody scents like this especially during the holidays! Soap - I love this festive soap for decoration in my bathroom. It gives my very simplistic bathroom a little pop of color and it screams Christmas is coming. This soap is part of Primal Elements Holidays Collection in the scent Candy Cane. I've been tempted to just use it instead of using it for decoration. Primal Elements Soaps are handmade and contain vegetable glycerin, which moisturizes the skin and contains pure essential oils for an optimum fragrance. Both the Illume candle and Primal Elements soap can be found at any Red Door Spa Location.  Next we have a white flower arrangement which gives the bathroom a very clean look, which I found at the wonderful TJ MAXX. You can always find hidden gems in that store! For finishing touches, I found a monogram towel from Target that goes with the clean and simplistic look, yet has a bit of gold that goes with the holiday theme.

Brandied Pear and Marshmallow Body Melt - Red Door Spa Review #galsquad

If you're looking to treat yourself to something sweet and relaxing, you'll want to pamper yourself to this treatment! Imagine your whole body being massaged with a gentle scrub that has a Brandied Pear aroma. Once rinsed off, you sink in a deep relaxation while your body is being massaged in a light creamy Marshmallow scented Shea Butter that leaves your skin super smooth! 

I was able to treat myself to this same treatment, courtesy of Red Door Spa Atlantic City, and I'm here to tell you my experience was amazing. The treatment starts with your body being exfoliated with a Brandied Pear scrub, which I must say smells like a delicious cocktail! The sea salt in the scrub helps remove the dead skin cells, while the scrub also contains Vitamin-E rice bran oil that leaves your skin polished to perfection. Once you're whole body has been exfoliated, it's time to rinse off in your own private shower included in your massage room. After you've dried off, your massage therapist returns to the room to deliver an amazing, yet relaxing massage using a rich a creamy Marshmallow Shea Butter.

OLAPLEX TREATMENT REVIEW

So excited to talk about the Olaplex treatment I received, courtesy of Red Door Spa Atlantic City. I didn't know anything about Olaplex until I received the treatment. What I found out about it is that it's actually like insurance for your hair. It makes your hair smooth and shinny. In fact, it reconnects the broken disulfide sulfur bonds in your hair, which are typically broken during thermal and chemical services (coloring and hot irons).

The Process:

The process itself is simple and only two parts. The first treatment is applied to your hair and left in for ten minutes and then rinsed out. Next, the second treatment applied, left in for ten minutes, rinsed, then it's time to shampoo and condition. It's really that simple ;)

 

The Results:

I would say my hair is a little more on the dry side because of all the heat I apply to it, but after this treatment.. I couldn't believe how smooth and silky my hair was. The best part is how healthy it actually looks. I don't think there's ever been a time my hair has looked THIS healthy. I'm very pleased with my hair and very excited to have been able to try this treatment. I recommend Olaplex to anyone that wants to add life back to their hair, you'll be just as pleased as I was with the results.

Watermelon Basiltini Pedicure - Red Door Spa #galsquad

So happy to announce that I'm the ambassador for Red Door Spa Atlantic City, located in Harrah's Resort. I'll be reviewing products and services from Red Door Spa over the next few months. On this day, I was able to enjoy something a little different, a Watermelon Basiltini Pedicure. 

I've been to many spas and I don't think I've been to one as big as this one. This Red Door Spa location features 23 Spa Treatment rooms, a sauna, and a jacuzzi you can enjoy while sitting next to the warm fireplace. Also, enjoy your manicure and pedicures while watching your favorite shows on flat screen tv's. This location also features a couple suite in which you can enjoy an 80 minute couples massage with your partner.

My first service was a relaxing Watermelon Basiltini Pedicure. Absolutely perfect for the summer because your feet are exfoliated with a watermelon-basil sugar scrub and then your feet are hydrated and massaged with buttercream scented shea and cocoa butter. We don't want dry cracked feet right? Finished off with a paraffin treatment, which if you never tried you must! A paraffin treatment is where your feet are placed in a plastic bag with warm wax that helps seal the moisture in your feet. Your feet are then wrapped in warm towels for about 20 minutes. It's VERY relaxing and it was well needed for as much as I'm on my feet! 

While I enjoyed my pedicure, I sipped on a Watermelon Basiltini infused water and it was by far the most amazing water I've ever had in my life. Red Door really knows how to amaze their guests with even the most simplest details.

I'm a sucker for orange colored polish so I went with Sundae Fundae by Essie. It's a great summer shade! Here in Jersey, we are more than ready for summer after the winter we've had so this pedicure was the perfect way to start it!
